Read about Linguistics PhD Alumni 10′ Jessica Coon‘s research on Mayan Language. Dr. Coon is currently an assistant professor in the department of linguistics at McGill University. Her research is focused on syntax and morphology, especially on ergativity, split ergativity, Case and agreement systems, nominalization, and verb-initial word orders. Currently she is carrying out a Banting Postdoctoral project on syntax of Mayan and Austronesian languages. Read MIT News article on her research here.
