BCS graduate student Hyowon Gweon on early childhood cognition

Brain and Cognitive Sciences Graduate Student Hyowon Gweon, under the supervision of her advisor Dr. Laura Schulz, reports in the journal Science 332 (2011): “16-Month-Olds Rationally Infer Causes of Failed Actions.” Hyowon’s research focuses on neural and cognitive underpinnings of social learning, in particular cases where learning and teaching occur as a joint goal-directed activity in which both the teacher and the learner intends to offer and receive information in an optimal way.
