Graduate resident tutors

Graduate students who have completed at least one graduate year at MIT or new students who were MIT undergraduates may apply to Residential Life for positions as Graduate Resident Tutors (GRTs). Such positions provide a stipend, a free room for the duration of the service, and enrollment in the Preferred Dining Program.

Refer to the job description, information packet, and application for complete details about the requirements and opportunities afforded by this position.

International students who are in the US on student visas can only be employed for up to 20 hours per week during the school year. The GRT position is considered employment of 10 hours per week, so international students with research assistantships, teaching assistantships, or other employment for 10 or more hours per week are not eligible to be GRTs.
