I am originally from Nigeria but I currently reside in Baltimore, Maryland. I’m pursuing a degree in electrical engineering at Morgan State University, with an emphasis in power, to help create systems that efficiently utilize solar energy. My goal is to reduce the effect of global warming on earth by pushing for the full adoption of renewable and sustainable energy sources. Currently, my hobbies are working out, traveling to new places, and networking.

The ecological environment is constantly changing and providing us with a rich source of data through sensors. These changes are measurable using sensor networks. A sensor network is formed when different devices are set to document changes in a specific environment over a period of time. The Responsive Environment group has shown previously that tracking changes in an architectural setting can help answer specific queries and solve problems. This approach can be applied to environmental monitoring. Therefore, to influence how people explore and experience their environment the group decided to take this investigation outdoors to track changes in the immediate environment. Sensors were deployed to document changes in climate, soil, water and other environmental data while also streaming audio and video from high trees through all the way underwater. To better visualize these data, the group created a 3D virtual environment integrated with the real-time sensor data. The focus of the summer research project was to make the 3D virtual terrain more user-friendly by expanding, mapping, and painting the current virtual terrain while integrating real time features in the virtual environment using Unity3D. Further applications can be used to track changes from global warming and other environmental phenomena while giving people the ability to visualize these changes and therefore creating a fully aware and more explorative society.
