I am originally and currently living in Puerto Rico. My parents are from Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, which is why I grew up traveling to visit most of my relatives in Dominican Republic. I am a Chemical Engineering major from University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. My research interests are bio-orientated and very broad within the field of Biological Engineering. Specifically I am very interested in research areas aiming to the design and synthesis of functional biomaterials to facilitate, target, or control the delivery of drugs or therapeutic genes to the body (e.g. biomaterials, nanotherapeutics, tissue engineering). I have had the privilege to execute research within different disciplines; including Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology, and Chemistry, at both my home and outside institutions. I am highly motivated towards the pursuit of a Ph.D. in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and happy environment. My hobbies include going to the beach, playing soccer, reading, and watching Netflix. Besides research, I am also passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures and languages. In the future, while in grad school, I would like to conduct collaborative research abroad in Germany or Switzerland.
